Deployment of resources
Committee PROCESS
Each year the United Way Board appoints a committee that overseas the distribution of community funds. The committee then appoints a panel for each impact area. They review programs that meet the mission of the impact areas, and recommend appropriate funding to the Board.
COMMITTEES
The committee will
- Meet at least quarterly to review agency reports and discuss United Way agency issues.
- Review applications of agencies seeking to become a member agency
- Be responsible for the Budget/Allocation process
- Review recommendations submitted by the panels as a result of meetings with the agencies
Committee members will consist of
· A chairman
· Panel leaders
· Board members and non-board members who are appointed by the chairman
Panels
Panels will
- Be assigned an impact area
- Review programs for funding with agency volunteers
- Be responsible for submitting to committee a summary of the panel meetings and recommendations
- Send a letter with program recommendation
Panel members will consist of
· A leader who is responsible for choosing his/her committee members.
· At least five members, preferably with a diverse background
· Either board member or non-board member
· Those familiar with programs
· One member with financial background
· Members cannot be board members of the programs being reviewed.
