In general, the team should be 5 to 10 people.
The team should be very carefully selected, including representatives from:
-Shifts
-Departments
-Lines
-Employees
-Supervision
-Management
The team should include individuals who are:
-Natural leaders (not just official leaders)
-Generous contributors
-Creative
-Enthusiastic
The team should:
-Meet on a regular basis with an action-oriented agenda.
-Have the authority to plan and execute the campaign.
-Function in sub-committees around activities that need to be executed.
-“Own” the campaign on behalf of all employees.

GROUP SOLICITATION
1. Schedule all employees into groups of 25 or less.
2. Convene each group in a pleasant meeting place for less than 30 minutes.

• Food is a plus
• It helps if all pledge cards are collected whether that person gave or declined.

As in-plant coordinator, you have a right to expect your “#1” will be totally supportive.
Ask the “#1” to exemplify Leadership by Example for the campaign…
· Endorse the details and plans the committee has developed
· Send a letter of support to each employee
· Meet with bargaining unit “#1” to secure leadership and support
(If employees are represented)
· Appear at employee solicitation meetings to convey support
· Be part of the fun in the campaign….employees will love it!
· Send a “Thank-you” to employees after the campaign
· Host a “Thank-you” event for the committee.
